Going on holiday and you want to have of taste of how diving is like? The PADI Scuba Diver Course is ideal for persons who want to obtain a diving certificate but don’t have the time or aren’t ready to complete the Open Water Diver Course.
It is made for those interested in diving in groups under the supervision of a dive guide. It invites these divers to experience diving and to encourages them to continue the dive training. The PADI Scuba Diver Course is also a good way to introduce children to the underwater world.
You must be 10 years or older to sign up to the PADI (Junior) Scuba Diver Course. You also need adequate swimming skills and to be in a good physical health. There is no prior experience with diving required.
The course takes 2 days to complete.
This course consists of 3 main parts:
- Knowledge development to understand the basics of diving (the first 3 sections of the PADI Open Water Diver Course).
- Confined water dives in a pool or in shallow water to learn the basic diving skills (the first 3 sessions of the PADI Open Water Diver Course).
- Open water dives to use your skills and explore (the first 2 dives of the PADI Open Water Diver Course).
What will you learn:
- Buoyancy skills including comfortable ascents and descents and breathing underwater.
- Staying warm underwater, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.
- Diving environments and aquatic life you are likely to encounter.
- Preventing common problems underwater.
- An introduction to boat diving.
You will learn to use the basic diving gear, such as mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank.
Upon completion of the PADI Scuba Diver Course you will receive a certification that allows you to dive under guided supervision to a depth of 12 meters.
